HI my daughter has a brother innovis 30 machine, we need to get her a walking foot and a 1/4 foot with guide and some needles ....Is there a website anyone reccommends to buy these things? found a brother site but its nothing to do with brother so not sure on whether its genuine. Also do most walking foots fit all machines etc maybe craftland stocks them?

Craft Land in Jumeirah Town Centre is a Brother agent. They sell and service all Brother machines and have a full range of accessories too. I've been told they are much cheaper that European stores. Try them first.

The guide is if you are quilting in a grid design- (I have never used mine-grid patterns are rather boring anyway!)-if she wants to do this she can just rule light pencil or chalk lines on the fabric (depending if it is light or dark) instead and use these as a guide-the quarter inch foot is handy but you can also put a thick piece of tape along the sewing machine plate to act as a guide-and the stitch plate itself should have the quarter inch marked. The walking food helps you quilt evenly through the batting-if she uses a thin batting she may well manage without it. See how she goes with the basic machine before you worry too much about accessories

Can't help you there as I only do dressmaking, no quilting. This is a link to a very good forum in the UK that covers all sewing crafts, there is always someone to answer your queries. :) http://www.thesewingforum.co.uk/index.php

I buy my sewing machine needles in Satwa. They are usually Singer needles or some other name I don't know, but they do my Brother machine. You might get the other accessories in one of the craft shops here but I think as Wuffles says they would be cheaper to source online. There are UK fabric websites which will stock them. :)

It will probably be cheaper to source one through eBay-there are different walking feet for different machines and some can be quite expensive-I bought a cheap Toyota quiltmaster sewing machine at Carrefour that came complete with these accessories to save me tracking them down later
