Funnily enough dh and I have both been hit with this since last night. We were feeling ok then started feeling very nauseous, I actually threw up a few times last night and this morning. Today feeling very wobbly and awful headache and nausea. We ate completely different meals to each other yesterday too so I think it must be a bug

Yes the marinated one, i get a bit concerned with the chicken breasts and things here, if you look at a fresh whole chicken its very small only just about enough for a family of 3 yet the chicken breasts you buy seperate are huge ... pumped full of something no doubt, god i hate summer here you have to be so careful what you eat you just dont know do you!!

What about Spinneys Chicken kebabs on a stick, DS and i both had them and both thrown up chronically since :( Is that the chicken you bought from the butcher section -- uncooked, marinated -- that you grill/cook at home? I bought that -- once! -- when I first touched down in Dubai and it stank to high heaven. Straight into the bin it went. :(

It's funny you mention this because a friend of mine has been ill for three days now after eating chicken. She was shivering, vomitting etc and was just diagnosed with Campylobacter which is found in chicken. I think we need to be very careful.

M&M, no link for me I've not eaten out there. I walked past the coffee shop downstairs and fancied a crossaint, went in to pay and the smell of cooking food made run away, so back to the water.

Ladies, Have any of you had a meal in the Lime Tree or Dubai Marina Yacht Club in past 12 days? The reason why I am asking is that we (me&husband) did and the result was 2 days off work for him and for me.....well, 'the bug'. We had a lunch at the LT (Coronation Chicken Sandwich and Rice Chicken Salad) and Dinner in DMYC on the same day, so we are not sure what caused the food poisoning (in my husband's case) Could that be coincidence?

thanks ladies... I've been struggling into the office which is probalby not helping either and everything is taken 10 times longer than normal. Think I'll up sticks and relocate to bed, collect some energy drinks and hibernate until Sunday and hopefully this thing will have disappeared by then.

Hi twocats, Sounds like the bug I had a couple of weeks ago, felt nauseous all the time and only had fluids for two days. Also slept during the day, something I never do. I took painkillers as I had a headache and felt spaced out. I had some Lucozade and energy drinks as I felt so lifeless, maybe they'd help you. Hope you feel better soon.

Hi twocats, I am glad that you've mentioned that as I have the same symptoms for past 5 days. Could that be down to the caffe/restaurant that we've eaten in past week or 2? If I eat anything my throat feels like somebody just sprinkled it with salt. Bizarre. I would love to hear if anybody else has the same 'bug'.
