Hi there,

My friend has a 2 month old cute little kitten she wants to get adopted immed.

She loves him ( she rescued him from starving to death) but her hubbie hates him.....

His name is Yoda, he is cute and fun and all the crazy cuteness that 2 mth old kittens are.

He has his injections and is flea free, is friendly and playful, is free, with food, his bed and ready to go asap.

Call her Anne 0507245769 before her hubbie kicks her and the kitten out!!

So glad to hear that the little boy has found a good forever home. Joking aside I think your friend and hubby have to chat about why it is OK for him to have a dog but she can't have a cat. Just because he doesn't like cats? Not a good enough excuse in my books. The fact that it has really upset her terribly but she had to go ahead and give her cat away, a sign of things to come. Just my opinion but how some treat animals says a lot about them. All said and done he is far better off in a home where he is wanted.

Since living in Dubai I have picked up quite a few kittens that were struggling to survive and I have then brought them into my home, fed and watered them to good health and taught them to use a litter box and made sure that they are handled plenty by my children and then when I know their personality I have advertised for forever homes for them. Perhaps I am just lucky but with the kittens I have managed to find homes each time (not so fortunate with any cat that is over 6 months old as they are so much harder to home). It is not in my nature to leave a small helpless kitten to die on the street if I can do something to help. Anyway, get your friend to take lots of good close up pictures of the kitten and to do a great write up on him/her and advertise in dubizzle. You will have to keep reposting the advert so that it stays on the first couple of pages. If her husband objects to the kitten then I would suggest that she keeps the kitten contained to just one room (even if it is just a toilet/bathroom) and that she goes in regularly to visit it and play with it. Good luck to her...

I hate to say it, but we can't rescue them all. Sometimes people, although with all the good intentions in the world, just need to leave the cats to it. They've survived this long without peoples help, they'll keep on doing so. These local feral cats are sometimes known as orientals and are well built for this environment, so long as they can find shade, water and hunt for food, they're perfectly fine. People need to stop taking in every stray cat and kitten they see on the street. The absolute best thing people can do, is catch them, have them neutered, then release them again.

Yup, she called them when she first spotted him a month ago, and they were full. They are still full up thats why she then kept him for herself.

Also Just want to point out that Drew, on another post, you rescued 3/4 kittens at the wkend and are looking to rehome them.... is this not the same situation as my friend... Why did you pick them up if you werent looking to keep them, surely they wud have survived? Anwyay , i think my friend honestly thought she was doing the right thing and thought adding to her family was great, til she saw a different side to her hubbie when she got the kitten inside the house. He was fine with it outside, but once it came inside, he was totally different with it. So, she is more than upset about it. She was so delighted she had a new family member, even making up stupid little pictures of her new 3 boys of fbook.!! So, it wasnt really her fault. Anwho, hopefully things will work out one way or another

Perhaps she made a mistake. either way, if no one wants Yoda, then ofcourse she is keeping him, he will just have to learn to live outside per her husbands request. She gets no say in the matter. Hopefully he will learn to deal with the heat

Agree with Drew 14 - the kitten would have survived if left alone, it would have had to - now it's used to being fed and looked ater by a human and needs to be rehoomed. Your friend may have thoguht that she was being kind but may have infact signed the poor kittens death sentence. If you are not prepared to keep a pet then don't start adopting feral animals.

Well she saw it outside her office starving and called him, said she is gonna bring it home and hold on to it til they call FF. He said ok. She did that, then he said, they must keep it outside. FF said they had no room for him. Now its too damn hot to leave a 2 month old side, so she lets him come inside during the day but her hubbie cant handle him being inside the house (he is home during the day while she works outside the house) and wants him either gone or else outside peramantly. So, since she doesnt want him living outside , she would prefer someone took him in as an indoor cat. I think she is right. I think she did the right thing but just her husband is being unreasonable....

Why didnt they talk about this before??? There are so many strays out there and we are constantly trying to find homes desperatly because people like this do not think when they take a pet. Sorry to pull the comparison but you can't just give away a child because you don't like it can you?!

well, its questionable whether the guy is a grown up!!! :) The kitten is a kitten so its cute and playful, which inlcude running around like a lunatic and chasing mundane objects....... Plus he is a dog guy and cant understnd when he says no, the kitten doesnt respond...... its causing massive friction in the house so she is so upset to let little Yoda go.... She got a few calls about him but nothing yet.
