Thanks Ladies, KK79 I have a dog, and I am happy to do must of the leg work, but I was interested because of the price difference. I also spoke to Katie at Snoopy Pets today, she seems nice and has options for DIY assistance for dogs.. Hopefully it works out well. Dogs are a bit harder (think it's because they need extra vaccs just before leaving). Honestly I found there wasn't too much leg work - trip to cargo village vet to get the official govt declaration which is part of the AQIS import permit application. Scanned it, applied for permits online. Permits emailed to me 4 days later (ie on Friday). Day after I applied for the permits I emailed Skycargo dubai and got moving with that stuff. On the Sat I took the furries for the tick & tapeworm Tx at the local vet (and got the Cert A part of the AQIS import permit filled in). Then the next day to Ministry Vet at Cargo village for Vet Cert B and the UAE Health Cert (which is also the export permit) and down to skycargo for their flight. Main thing is to be organised with the paperwork and have multiple copies - the originals went with the cats to Oz, another copy for on the box and another copy for skycargo. I've got scanned copies of the originals and that was it. Co-ordinating everything is pretty simple and to be honest Idid most of it from my computer in my lunch break.. Sky cargo are really helpful (can't speak for any other airlines as only used them) and Sky cargo in Sydney deal with the quarantine station (Eastern Creek for me as they went to NSW) and then I emailed the quaratine station to double check they were all good to go.... Not sure about the difference in price - but I know I saved a bundle :) Talk to your local vet as well - mine were excellent and gave me a discount on the vet check as I brought my own wormer and frontline! AQIS publish a VERY detailed step by step guide on how to bring you pet to Oz.... [http://www.daff.gov.au/aqis/cat-dogs/countries/cat4/info-pack-4'> which is very useful. There is even a guide on how to fill out the import permits - http://www.daff.gov.au/aqis/cat-dogs/application/complete It seems a bit daunting at first but it's really not too bad - well for felids anyway :)

I haven't used them but I recently sent 2 cats to Australia - 16 k for both which included the cost of the RNAT test and the quarantine in Oz but was given balls parks of 12 k per cat excluding quarantine fees when I asked overhere. Are you taking a dog or cat? To be honest, if it's a cat then it really isn't too hard to DIY.. I applied for my AQIS permits on a sunday and the cats were on a flight the following Sunday.

I need any recommendations/advise on Move One for pet exporting to Australia. I have obtained quotes from DKC and an Aussie based company (both around 20K) already and I just got one from Move One, which came in at 1/2 the price of the the other two (under 11K). I want to know if these guys know what they are doing when it comes to pet relocation especially since Aus has the strictest quarantine regulations etc. The price was a nice surprise but I am very suspicious when it comes to this type of price difference. Advise anyone?? Thanks in advance. edited by Sequin Queen on 19/01/2011
