As i was walking my dog, i looked up at one of the buildings in Motor City and saw a guy desperately and inhumanely beating his dog with a pretty thick belt. I know its rude of me to stare into someone's windows but i couldn't help it. He was going at it with such severity i was literally stumped. I could almost feel the harshness of the beating. The guy is a massive closet and im pretty sure him using full force was not pretty for the dog. I don't think im within my rights in this town to do anything, especially since i just happened to see it from outside, but i just can't help thinking about that poor dog!!! I just cannot get over it. Brings back memories to when i saw a guy chopping a dog right in front of me and a bunch of kids...we were all about 3-5. I was three....its' haunted me ever since...and when i saw this tonight i felt so ****** helpless, but at the same time i was itching to go visit this guys apartment and tell him off. Motor City apartments aren't high rises so its pretty easy to deduct where this guy lives...anyway, i know its a long shot, but is there somewhere in dubai where i can register a complaint? I know that the guy was on his private property, but his curtains weren't drawn so perhaps technically i wasn't "peeping"??? Plus i wasn't looking purposely at his house, i just looked up at the building and it caught my eye...anyway...feel absolutely useless and cant get this dog out of my mind :(

my sis also suggested to pretend to be girl scouts selling cookies....she also said thats a sure way to get the dog over....lol..i can just imagine...my 19 year old 1.83m tall sister and myself, a short 26 year old, dressed in girl scout outfits, scouting for dog abuse under the guise of being girl scouts.....lol...God knows where she gets her ideas from!

Well i look after my friends cats in that building, and so am always back in and out of there..so i can just say i was passing by and saw this dog bone outside your door..."do you own a dog, if so is this yours." if he says yes, i can excitedly just say "oooh can i please pet him, i just love dogs, and miss mine terribly"....err yeah, turn on that "please dont give me a ticket Mr cop" thing :-/ .. cheesy i know, but aren't men suckers for that, and hopefully he wont suspect anything...im also hoping that if he does let me see the dog, perhaps there will be some hint of abuse (of course its not good for the dog, but its definitely good enough to get that dog out of there) As for beating his wife, my little sister who was out on the walk with me as well, had said that to me too...she said "imagine you finally get teh dog out of there through municipality complaints, and all the meanwhile he's hiding his wife under the bed as she was the one he was actually beating!"...i told my sister that her humour for a nineteen year old worries me lol :-/ I could always go with "does jack live here"...and forever be known as the Joey (friends) of the building block...."hot chick? HOOT CHICK?" instead i'll be yelling for jack :-/

Hi Ladies...i have forwarded his details to municipality, but they're saying they want me to make sure the apartment im naming has a dog to begin with. So, i will go there today myself after work. i won't give away my intentions, as i have been racking my brain for a way to go there without raising alarm bells just yet. my plan involves an innocent tennis ball/dog bone which is "found" by me lying in the hallway....come to think of it, i think i have spoken to this guy once or twice during my walkies...not sure though, but im pretty sure its the guy i have seen around before...if it is, then oh boy...his dog is the sweetest most adorably quiet dog i have ever seen!!! oh well, we shall soon find out... Thanks for all your support Ladies, seriously thank you so much. Yeah, you never know, he could have been beating a cat ... or his wife! LOL. I like the dog bone in the hallway ... but then why are you in the hallway? Perhaps you just ring the doorbell - maybe when you think he won't be home, and see if a dog barks? If he answers, you can always say, "does Jack live here?"

That is utterly disgusting. I agree that you should stick a note under the door mentioning the consequences of cruelty to animals. You should also give Multiplex a call - I'm sure there's not much they can really do but you could mention that this dog may (through no fault of its own) become a vicious animal through being so mistreated. They may get security to pay him a visit... Can you tell us what breed of dog it was? I'm out walking my pup every day now and I'd like to watch out for this sicko and avoid him (and also look out for him mistreating the dog so I can approach him!). This makes me so angry. Why do people like this have animals?

PN your doing the right thing contacting the municipality. I'm sure the brute of a man will be more scared of the consequences he will face by having a government department rep at his door. And he may well have the dog removed, if not he will always have the knowledge that someone saw his cruel actions and reported him. Honestly I don't think they have invasion of privacy laws, but I'm not sure.

If you can figure out which apartment it is, you could slip a note under the door stating that you have witnessed the cruelty, and remind them that if reported they could face a 20,000 Dhs fine and jail time!

Report it to the municipality. After what happened with the pussy the other day I'm sure the municipality will be all over this. Totally unacceptable behaviour. He doesn't deserve a dog.

Apparently you can make complaints to the Municipality vets section 04 2891114 That's just awful PN. I'd have been up there like a shot and tearing strips off him and taking the dog. edited by Chocs01 on 05/10/2011
