What a timely thread! My son is having his removed tomorrow morning and im feelin v anxious about it all! Thus it was good to read this thread, feeling a tad better!
Thanks ladies
Well she had them out this morning and woke up from surgery smiling and is currently eating her dinner and gassing to friends on mobile. Staying in overnight and has a souvenir of 2 MassiveTonsils in a jar to gross her friends out with tomorrow, Shame Halloweens passed :)
My DS had his adenoids removed and tonsils removed in July this year here in Dubai. He had the surgery early morning and was let out by 6pm same day.
The doctor explained that if he had suffered from sleep apnea (sp?) then he would have been kept in over night.
My DS had it done in uk when he was 3 he had to stay overnight as he had a bleed during theatre, if no bleeding then they are usually allowed home.
I have to say little ones recover far better than big ones DS was 3 and eating toast 1 hour after i was 22 didnt eat for 5 days and was s0everly ill for at least 2 weeks after, definitely better to get it done younger.
Hope everything goes well :)
If your kids have had it done here, Do they stay in hospital overnight if the surgery is early morning?
Sorry not very clear
I meant did they stay in overnight AFTER the surgery?
