If our visitors have overstayed, can they go and pay a fine and just extend their visa, or do they have to leave and re enter?

Sorry just saw this. Yes they were open today from 10am. There was no umber system, just queue and wait. It was very quiet buy the majority of people were told to come after Eid as there was no staff around (just 3 on the counters). Our friends thought it was all sorted, saw the woman on the desk and told to just get something typed, HOWEVER, all typing shops were closed! So, not resolved. They will go back Tues in the hope the typing places will be reopened.

Hey they should be able to extend their stay by paying a fine. If they travelled on Emirates they simply go to their office pay a fine and have an extra month to stay. Otherwise, I believe they would pay the fine on their way out of the country at the airport. Pretty sure they would need to pay the fine AND pay for an extension on their visa-or do a visa run and pay that way
