Hey Ladies!

I've finally decided that hubby and I need to go on a health drive and try and shed our dubai stones! We had lunch at Lime Tree Cafe yesterday and thought how easy it would be to drop those pounds if only we could eat that kind of stuff all the time. Got me wondering, as Im guessing Lime Tree havent brought out a recipe book, does anyone know of any recipe books that have the kind of food that is served at Lime Tree to get me on my way?

TIA! :) xx

This would be a great idea to put towards Lime Tree. We always take our guests there and they always love it, so a recipe book would make a great gift for them. Also a great gift idea for expats who move away... love their chutneys and all their dishes and desserts. I'd definitely buy a recipe book, or two!!

try this website: www.taste.com.au It has a great deal of different recipes and if you search hard enough you will find an awesome carrot cake recipe. Im sure LimeTree's base carrot cake recipe is from the Edmond's Cook Book which I my late granny sent me from NZ, full of good kiwi recipes. Yep, I would second that it is similar to the Edmonds recipe. I put wholemeal flour in mine instead of white flour but that is about it.

you me both - I love their salads though - not sure if they're as healthy as they look mind you!! Yeah, i know what you mean, but i like to convince myself im being super-healthy eating there (before i hit the carrot cake that is.....it balances out that way!! ;) ) I love all the dishes with things like wild rice and quinoa - the kind of things i wouldn't have a clue how to make!! edited by LMAO-DXB on 13/11/2011

There are plenty that are about low GI. This would be your best bet - you can use some of the lentils, grains and pulses mixed with vegetables etc. HTH.
