Can anyone give me information on Dubai schools and how they are allowed to celebrate Christmas, does your school allow Christmas songs (or do the words get changed) Christmas hats, Christmas Cards etc.... getting mixed answers and not sure if its the school policy or KDHA, any information gratefully received

Strangely, there's less restriction here, at least in the American school, than there is back in U.S. public schools.

JPS already has it's tree up, has Christmas festive market tonight and I think at least FS kids learning Christmas songs for a concert.

Last year my DDs school had Christmas decorations up and they had a small cencert with each class/year singing a christmas song. Yesterday she told me they are learning some christmas songs for assembly, so I think they'll probably have another concert this year.

Last year, the children at Safa school had a visit from Santa, classes were decorated with small fake christmas tree and a post box was put at building entrance/reception where children could put their christmas cards which were delivered to their friends or teachers throughout the school. I am pretty sure DD came back home singing a few christmas songs she learned at school too. edited by blimey on 17/11/2011
