My DS is now 11 months and I am in need of a baby carrier for on my back. He is very tall and already weighs 12 kg so I have been having problems for a while. I am currently using the hippie chick which is great but 1 then only have 1 hand free. In summer, we are planning a holiday which involves some walking and a push chair will just not be so practical. Any suggestions?

Hi ladies, thanks, I will do some reading this weekend (am a working mom) and see what I think would suit my needs.

I have an Ergo and a Deuter. Both are nice. May be willing to sell the Deuter which we have only used once as we did not end up doing the hiking that we thought we would. http://www.completeoutdoors.co.uk/Deuter-Kid-Comfort-II-Baby-Carrier-_dash_-Free-Delivery

Hi leendec, the boba baby carrier looks similar to the Ergo which you can get in Dubai at babysouk.com - maybe compare the prices of both (including shipping) and see which works out the best? We (well, my husband) used a Deuter baby carrier which is quite a big, structured backpack but good for long walks, hiking etc. We ordered ours online and it cost a small fortune with shipping but you might be able to find something similar (secondhand) on Dubizzle? Or you could go traditional and get a wrap - Vanessa, who runs the babywearing workshops, will be able to show you how to use it. Next workshop is on 24 February.
