Giving birth / registering newborn + visa requirements
Hi ladies
I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on our situation... My husband has been offered new job in Dubai and he is going to accept. I am currently 31 weeks pregnant and due to give birth at AH at beginning of April.
I'm on my husband's visa and our concern is what will happen if our visas are still being processed when I go into labour - and hence we don't have valid visas and don't have passports on our person when baby is born. He has a notice period of 3 months in current job - so in theory, that won't be an issue anyway - but as he's going to a competitor in the construction world, we are worried they will ask him to leave immediately (obviously on full pay - but taking away our visas and leaving it to the new company to sort). Baby could choose to come at any time, so we really can't judge it timewise. Insurance isn't our concern as new company has said they will give us instant cover for my care - and if worst came to worst, we could obviously just pay upfront.
I wondered if you could shed any light on what the hospital will need / what we will need in days following birth to register birth? I am leaning towards waiting until April for him to hand his notice in, but he's keen to move forward with the offer.
