Does anyone know how long a police report is valid for when you've had a car accident?

I had a guy drive into the back of my car a while back - can't remember the date of the accident, and can't read what it says on the report as it's all in Arabic - and I haven't got round to taking my car to the Insurance company yet. Just wondering if the police report is still valid.

i would tell them before you renew as it may affect your premium unless of course you have protected no claims.

So.... if I have a police report from a few weeks ago, and renew my insurance next month before I get a chance to use the police report to have the car repaired, can I still use it on my new insurance policy? Even though the date on the report will be from when I was covered by the original insurance policy and not the new one? I'd get it repaired before insurance expires, unless you are using the same company.

I've been reading this with interest as I have a Police Report (back from February last year). I renewed my insurance in August and all was fine

no expiry date but get it fixed before you renew the insurance.

I had a lease car and had a police report from someone who kindly damaged the fender and then drove off.. Anyway I had it for about a year and it was not a problem. I am sure the care hire company would have told me if it was and would have undoubtedly come after me for money or something! Wwhen I reported the damge to the care hire company they said just bring the report when you bring the car back... and as it was only minor damage I left it quite a while!
