Nixxie - not sure if you've found someone to go with you. I've had this done at Juan's salon and would def be interested to do it with you (esp at that price!). Only prob is that I go away tomorrow morning till the 21st, so will only be able to do it on the 22nd. Does that work for you or is it too late?

Is there any saloon in Dubai that is not all ladies ?? I mean, apart for the manager or hairdresser who might be a man. Or is that exactly what you want do avoid ? No offence, I am just trying to understand. Sorry I wasn't clear, I cover my hair so I want a lady to do my hair. Glad to know it's a ladies salon.

LOL...I'm pretty sure some of the users will love the concept ! And the other ones won't say anything but think the same :) Personally, when I go to a manicure (let's say twice a year...) I am dying for a nice tea - not the Lipton Yellow one - a nice brand like Palais des The (the The du Hammam or The des sables...mmm) or Mariages Freres. (ok, you spotted me, I'm french...). Or for the ones who like coffee, Nespressos, with possibility of having cappucinos... (to stay legal for this country ;) After all, it's a time to pamper myself, and I would like to really indulge myself. And some nice biscuits and fruits. A concept don't you think ? edited by Tiki on 09/02/2011

Lol - sometimes, I'm not sure of posters' nationalities on the board, hence the explanation - as you say, I'm sure most people know what a saloon is (other than the people who write the signs here!)....or maybe there's a new concept for Dubai, a saloon that is actually a saloon - you can get your nails done and have a drink at the same time....a joke I hasten to add, to anyone who throws their hands up in horror at the thought!

Chizz, you didn't sound sarcastic at all !! lol :) It's just so funny that I misspelled that way and I can't believe they don't know the difference. You don't have to be a fan of western cowboy movies to know what a saloon is....lol... I'm not a regular/good customer of the salons here, but didn't see any french cancan's or even the old piano playing alone... or the magician that does some easy tricks.... Might be interesting to have those though...would change from the 10,000 viewing of the same episode of Friends or the ads for the new magical hair conditioner... edited by Tiki on 09/02/2011

Oh Tiki - lol - didn't realise that you had called it a saloon - wasn't trying to be sarcastic - it's just that it's a long standing joke that they sometimes put saloon instead of salon here - in western countries we understand saloon as a kind of bar, esp. in the old western cowboy films....

Yes - Beauty Within is an all female salon - I found out that to my cost when my husband dropped me off there to have something done and then he stuck his head round the door of the salon to tell me where he had parked the car - the manager was very rude to him and told me that I should know that all salons are women only! There was no-one else in the salon but me, I hasten to add..... Well, I didn't know that actually at the time, as I hadn't been in Dubai that long and I'm not a person that usually has treatments at a salon (or saloon as they sometimes call them here!). There was no sign on the door either saying it was ''ladies only'' and new arrivals in Dubai may not know that it's just for ladies..... edited by chizz on 09/02/2011

LuLee- I have been asking around as much as i can because I want to avoid the formalhyde. The manager at Beuty Within seemed very knowledgable about all of it and said they do not use formalhyde. She gave me some readin material on it so I will look where I placed it- like a frequently asked questions info. When i went there for a facial all ladies were there but I can check if it is an official all ladies salon I'll get back to this with more info I don't mind if it's also a men's salon as long as they have a private room for ladies. Thank you sophia07 :)

I have a voucher (2 for-1) at Beuty Within and they said they dont use formalhyde- are you interested? Sophia I know you've been trying to get more info on the keratin and someone to use the voucher with you. I'm interested but would like to know how much it would cost roughly? Do you know how long it will last on the hair? Does it include the after care shampoo and conditioner? Is it a ladies salon? Sorry too many questions.
