hi there - my 3 mo ds is quite big at 6.8 kg and 63 cms long - currently he is pushing up and out of the insert - can anyone give me advice of when you stopped using the newborn insert for your ergo carrier and if the transition was easy? tia

I do have the feeling that my son doesnt like the fact that he is facing ME in stead of the exciting world out there...he tries turning his head 180 degrees constantly to see where we are going and what mummy is looking at. I tried putting him on the side, but I havent mastered that technique yet. I used an instruction video on youtube but still, he got angry coz I didnt do it the correct way. Guess I will have to go to another baby wearing morning.

I stopped using it around 3-4 months. Can't quite remember. Head control is the most important issue, as long as he can hold his head very well for long periods of time, it's fine to go without. I felt that DD was getting way to curious of her surroundings at that age. She wanted to look around and move her head a lot. That's when I stopped using the insert. She was happy with it.

I think the most important issue is head control. I went to one of the info mornings on baby wearing and my baby boy was 4 months and they tried him without and said it was okay to stop using it. Just try and see if he feels comfortable I guess. Or maybe you can give them a call and one of the ladies can give you more information. http://web.me.com/michelle.lee/BabyWearDubai/Home.html I always dealt with Vanessa, she is great!
