One of the most annoying things here - all the mattress sizes! lutzkk, unless you stick to only the US stores here (or bring everything bedding related with you) be prepared to stop referring to sizes as queen king etc - but by dimensions in cm. We bought a "king" mattress here from a store called intercoil...hadnt thought of the dimension issues...and it turns out its half between a US queen and a US king. so either i have king size sheets from home that are too big or i hunt around for this off size 180x200cm here. Called everything from Queen to Extra Queen to just 180x200 depending on the origin of the store I'm in. Grrrrrr I am trying to get a matress topper and have the same size as above all are too small or too big grrrr yet the size mattress above is popular. I have found Al Maya at lamcy and Matalan do sheets to fit but there arent many other shops im not alone! I feel totally duped! I had no warning! Had I known we would have just gotten the US king (sheets are so reasonable for the quality back there!) made to measure. Unfort, I love my mattress and its frame! I have found that white company sometimes has the right fitted sheet size... But tbh, most of our sheets are just too big and we do an excellent job of tucking them in! What I cant figure out it is the Ikea over here. They have more measurements than I can keep track of but cant decipher what country's system they use!

I've heard they are different sizes, but haven't been able to confirm this. I bought a new king size mattress before moving here a month ago, but am wondering if I'll be able to buy a king size bed frame that fits it. :/ ps - intercoil will make anything to size...including the frames

A king lol I think she means "what are the actual measurements?" since "a king" can mean a variety of different sizes depending where it is made. I've found when buying sheets that there are about 5 different definitions of each of single, double, queen, king and superking and it varies from shop to shop. I suggest you measure your mattress and take those measurements with your when you go out and about.

No. A king over here is equivalent in size to a US queen size bed. Unless you buy it at an american store ex. pottery barn So be careful when buying sheets & or a mattress as they may not fit!
