Advice regarding Quinny Buzz - Sorry I know it's been done to death

Sorry ladies if this has been discussed before but I cant find any thread addressing this issue.

Im thinking of buying the Quinny Buzz since the other strollers seem too bulky for my liking. I'm aware of the issue of it being too heavy to lift in and out of a car, but since DH will be doing that im not too worried about it. What has me confused is that the seat looks far too small (narrow and shallow) as compared to any regular stroller out there. Is that really an issue with a new born and toddler or is the seat just fine? (i don't want to buy the deami cot with the quinny since it wont be of much use after the first 6 months i assume)

Also with the memory foam in the quinny does it get too hot for an infant in the seat. Iv read people saying the their child gets too sweaty in that seat.

Do the tyres read bust as frequently as people say?

I had my heart set on the quinny buzz but now with all these negative reviews im not too sure anymore. Will the Maxi Cosi Beneconfort Loola be a good alternative then?Any advice will be much appreciated.

Thanks for the input ladies. I guess it will be okay to use the car seat with it. I don't think it be out as much for a few months. 2-3 hours in the mall, the car seat should be suitable for that.

I have read online that the instruction manual does say from 6 months.... I dont have the manual as I got mine second hand off dubizzle.... I really dont see why it can only be used from 6 months on wards though... It reclines fully, and it molds to the babies body making it cosy... I am happy with it... I guess it just all depends on what you want for you baby. :-)

camandcarly Thanks for sharing the link. Does the instruction manual state that the stroller seat should be used for 6 months+ infants though? I did look at the buzz at babyshop and saw that it reclined fully but was left confused after I read reviews online saying that the recline is not a full recline, thus not suitable for a new born. If you are using it for your baby then it should be fine i guess. That is a bit reassuring.

HI TDB, I read the option about the dreami cot, but seriously don't want to spend that much on a cot that i'l be using only for a few months. :( How come they state on their website that the buzz is suitable from birth. That's false advertising!

This might be helpful: http://strollersandprams.com/strollers/75/Quinny-Buzz/review-1.html Check the 4th pic down, it shows that it can be reclined fully. My quinny buzz reclines fully, and I use it for my 2 month old.

Thanks for the replies ladies. Im still left a bit confused though. So basically the buzz can recline flat but the infants legs stay a little elevated? I have been searching online too, and the buzz manufacturers recommend that the stroller seat should be used when the infant is 6+ months. But alot of mumz have used it for their newborns. With the maxi cosi car seat, wont the babys spine still be curved if she's left sleeping in it? Im hearing good things about elea. But dont think il be able to buy that after a recent change in circumstances. Im looking for a 2nd hand buzz since we might have to leave dubai soon. Dont want to invest so much a stroller il have to leave behind.

I was also considering both the BUzz, and Elea, and we finally decided on the Elea coz it lies flat, folds comfortably/compact, breaks are easy, is manouverable, seat is slightly wider and goes back completely flat... Also unlike the Buzz, the seat can be extended so the LO's feet are flat too. And it looks great too, though looks-wise the Buzz is just as good :) Its available at mom & me for 2060 in Red, Black and a very Gorgeous Deep Violet/Purple..... :) ...and it is parent-facing as well. edited by Mahawish on 16/09/2012 edited by Mahawish on 16/09/2012

Hi Lilypad, My quinny buzz lies flat... I have a 2month old and he fit nice and snug in it. He loves it and has lovely long sleeps in it. Might be worth going to have a look at one. They are on sale at baby shop at the mo. :-)

Hi Lilypad I use the Quinny Buzz. My baby is nearly 9 months old now and still loves the very comfortable back support. She fits in very well (and should for at least another year), and likes the freedom of both looking at me and the rest of the world when we go out for a walk. I used the fully reclining Maxi Cosi carrycot with it for the first 4 months before she could sit upright. It fit in easily with the same adaptors as the Maxi Cosi car seat. I would be happy to give it away if you're interested since I no longer need it. It needs a good dusting but is in otherwise good condition! Send me your email if you'd like to have a look!

Thanks for replying sourskittleashnut, wow that changes things alot, I thought the quinny buzz has a full recline so an infant can lie flat :( . Did not know that they didnt! Just saw this on their website "The Quinny Moodd and Buzz are the best strollers for your lifestyle. Both are suitable from birth using a carrycot for that relaxed lie-flat sleeping comfort" However from another web search got this " The instruction booklet however clearly states that "It is recommended that you do not use the Buzz as a pushchair until your child is able to sit up unassisted, usually at around 6 months"" Now that's confusing. Thanks for the suggestion I will have a look the Maxi Cosi Elea. I hope it has the option of baby facing you.

I was also looking at the Quinny Buzz but didnt purchase it because it didnt recline to a fully flat position and, like you, I didnt want to buy a separate bassinet type attachment since it would be useless after a couple of months, and I also felt like the seat area looked too narrow. I wanted it go flat so that when LO was very small she would be comfy in it to sleep, and I wouldnt leave her in the car seat too long since it would keep her back curved for a long time. We finally got the Maxi Cosi Elea pushchair and I LOVE it! The seat goes completely flat, its very soft and padded, and the whole pushchair looks great. It drives very smoothly too, and it folds very compact. I suggest you look at the Kiddicare videos on YouTube on this model. My DD is 8 weeks now and she is very comfortable in it since I can put it flat when she wants to sleep and have it half up when she wants to look around (there is also a fully up option for when shes bigger and can sit up). I cant recommend it enough, I'm so happy with our decision. Its available at Mom&Me and they are on sale right now too, I think it'll cost you about 2100dhs on sale.
