Hi ladies I would like a bit advice from those of you who are used to catering for kids' parties. My dd's school is organising a carnaval and there will be having a party in her classroom afterwards. Parents are invited, and have each been asked to bring a dish. As I am class rep I have been coordinating this (lol). There are roughly 25 kids in the class. 11 mums are bringing savoury dishes, while 8 are making sweet things. Another 3 are supplying drinks. A couple have not responded. The problem is... how do I know how many servings each parent should provide? If I assume that on average an adult/child would have 4 different things on her plate, 2 savoury and 2 sweet, and that there will be around 50 people present, I guess that means we need 200 servings in total? So would be acceptable to ask each mum to cater for 10 people? Or would that be too much/too little? Input from experienced mums much appreciated :-) Thanks x
