Thanks for the information. Yes, we are aware about the legal aspect and will be getting married as soon as we can arrange something.

Thanks for your replies everyone. I will pass the information on and get him to have a look at what is available in those areas. I have managed to get a place for my daughter at JESS AR which is why I was looking at that area so that she could walk/cycle to school. I am glad that the commute isn't 3 hours anymore - that sounds horrendous! He has said about an hour is feasible, so we will have to see. Thanks again :) Unless you are right next to the school walking or cycling isn't likely to be a safe or comfortable option in the heat

Hi dippy cat, there is always the wonderful Gretna Green to have a quickie wedding before you come out! my Dh does the commute everyday and it makes a huge difference what time you set off so you don't get in the school and other bust work traffic. He used to set off at 7am and sometimes it would take 2 hours to get to AD. Now he sets off at 6am and it takes him 45 mins. Same with finishing work. There is alot more to do in Dubai ( we lived in Abu Dhabi for a year) and the housing is much cheaper then AD. Also it depends where in AD he is working as the road systems are very busy in the centre, lots of roadworks all the time.
