Is anyone else having internet connection issues? Have lost my connection yesterday. My connection is elife and I use a time capsule to distribute the wifi. Engineer tells me there is an issue with apple products and etisalat. Just wondering if anyone else is having problems.

The Etisalat technician came to confirm Etisalat has been tweaking the system for the past 3 days causing major issues for Apple routers.It will last till Sunday/Monday.It means that internet is on then off and then on etc.....No need to do anything from our end. There are hundreds of homes and businesses affected so Etisalat is taking the matter seriously despite saying they do not support Apple hardware. In my street alone, the Etisalat man has been dealing exclusively with this issue and already seen dozens of businesses and homes today!At least it is good to know that we are not being ignored.

Well mine is down again although I suspect some foul play. The Etisalat technician rang me this morning asking if my internet was ok. I said yes after spending hours trying to fix it.In the end I think Etisalat had to send the internet through the box again (as we are paying they have a duty to do this I suppose).At the very moment I was telling the technician it was all ok, the internet mysteriously dropped again. He will be coming this afternoon after all and I will report the findings on the forum.Unfortunately I cannot switch to Du as they don't operate in my area.

Whatever you do don't restart etisalat fibre optic box again - that's how I lost connection again. Mine was off all day yesterday - came on randomly in the night but was really slow. Worked (slowly) until I restarted box now won't work again although box has all the lights. Etisalst engineer came and as soon as he saw I had a time capsule said it was a etisalat / apple issue they were trying to resolve. Very frustrating. He said I could get round it for now by using another broadband router not the time capsule but I don't really want to go out and buy one - anyone got a spare old one floating around I could borrow? (I only have old adsl routers knocking around).

We are the same, airport capsule stopped working yesterday morning and Etisalat were less than helpful on the phone. DH has plugged Router in that they gave us and we are back on line. DH added a post to the Apple help board and a few other people were having issues with Etisalat connection. He is out but will be interesting to see if anyone has replied with an answer.

I had problems yesterday as my internet stopped working although the wall box (recently replaced) showed everything was working. I rang Etisalat to ask them to do a reset. In the meantime I did a hard reset on my time capsule (to check that the problem wasn't there). After half a day of trying to reconnect the TC to the Apple and getting the green light again, the internet still wasn't getting through. It worked for 5mns last night and then went back to showing 0.0.0.1 as an ISP address.This morning a proper ISP was showing and finally I was able to have internet again. I think it was Etisalat all along (they tweaked their system for more control) and not Apple as my updates had been done days ago.Obviously Etisalat won't admit to it.
