I've had a shocking night and day of dealing with my little man who has a very upset stomach, crying and very uncomfortable and very green poo... I'm trying to work out what I ate that might have caused this... Any hints? Whatever it is didn't agree with him at all and I really don't want a repeat performance...
:(

I noticed my DD's poo turned green when I took iron supplements.

My ds had green poo due to a hindmilk - foremilk imbalance, he was getting too much of the (lactose heavy) foremilk and not enough of the fatty and filling hindmilk. I only fed him with one breast per feed instead of doing both and that solved the problem.

Thanks 2Blossom - I've just had a look and am wondering now if it was the yummy smoothie I had for lunch two days in a row :/: Shame... I don't have a lot of dairy in my diet but I guess a massive jug of milk and yoghurt two days in a row could cause this?!?! BFC - His poo isn't mucousy - he doesn't have a cold... I'll give it another day and see how he's going :( Poor little boy - I just feel so bad for him that I've caused his this pain and discomfort unwittingly. He's not the best with his bowel movements at the best of times... takes a lot of effort and he's quite colicy. Way to make it worse!

I've just read an article on this on the justmommies.com website. Not sure if this would help you? My DS sometimes has green poo without the stomach upset. My midwife said it's from too much hindmilk if you're BF? If not, that website lists other possibilities. edited by 2Blossom on 18/03/2011

Oh poor both of you! It could be a reaction to something you've eaten, or (especially if his poos are mucousy) it could be a stomach virus (sometimes even a cold can do this). If he's still miserable and you're at all worried, a call to his doctor might be in order?

Spinach or broccoli would do that for us. Or he could just be sick?
