For my first born I was not covered by insurance so we took a package (useful only when you start early).. for the second one I delivered at the same hospital but this time I was covered so a package was not even mentioned by the hospital. Everything was covered apart from some tests for the new born.

I had insurance which covered everything at MedCare. The only time you need a package from the hospital is if you don't have insurance but want a discounted price.

I delivered in Al Zahra hospital, everything was coverd by insurance. Didn't take any packages. During the pregnancy I had a lot more check ups, a lot more scans, a lot more laboratory tests.... than what was offered in the package. I stayed in the hospital for 3 days, had normal delivery and everything was covered by insurance. Thanks a lot Hope1more for taking time to share your delivery experience w/ Al Zahra ;)

Hi! Were you able to use your Insurance Maternity Benefits in getting Antenatal or Delivery Packages in hospitals? My Insurance said as long as within networks, I can. But I called 2 hospitals here and was able also to talk 2 OB's I knew, they said no. If I have insurance, no need to get packages. It is only for self-paying. Your experience or knowledge on this will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance ;)
