We would like to wallpaper our dining room and the current walls are painted concrete, does anyone have any experience with this? Is it the same as wallpapering a normal interior wall? And any recommendations for reasonably priced wallpaper suppliers (here or online).......looking for a Designers Guild inspired look ;)

I went away with the kids when they did it but just asked, they did paint over the concrete first and used a smooth surface before putting up the wallapaer

The walls can be painted then. If the walls seem uneven then I would put a lining paper on first before the wallpaper.

Whoops.....yes, thanks for pointing that out, the walls do have a thin plaster layer over the top which is painted.

Are you sure they are painted concrete... do they not have a layer of plaster on top of the concrete?

I would of thought the walls will need to be skimmed first. Concrete sweats and expands, so you will probably find the wallpaper wont stick.

I had wallpaper put over my concrete walls. It took all day and I used "Damas" in Satwa. I am very pleased with it but do not know exactly how it is done. You have to haggle with them
