Hi I moved to Dubai when DD was 18 mths. Till then it was just me and her but i wanted to concentrate on my work so I hired a nanny/maid when I got here. I wasn't used to having someone around but because I was at home I could keep an eye on the both of them as well as doing my work. It's not been easy but it's been a massive help esp as DD gets on with her quite well. 6 months down the track and we've got a good routine going. Personally I wouldn't trust a stranger to look after my daughter if I worked out of home but because I'm at home it makes a world of difference for me.

i study full time ashc but my LO is only 10 mths (nearly) he isn't the best sleeper though so day time is almost impossible for me to get any study done. i do most of mine at night time. It has been really difficult. We are however getting a full time maid soon to help around the house (DH travels a bit for work so there are few times I feel like im in single mum mode). Just having someone else to look after the house hold duties I think will help us greatly (because I like it to be tidy)... at least then when the LO does sleep I can get to do some study instead of worry about the washing or the house. It is really important for socialisation too so if you can get her into a nursery even though she may struggle (or you both may struggle) at the start, it will be much better for the both of you in the long run. Good luck and congrats on starting up your own business!

That's fantastic news about your DH Ash. The only way I can see you managing this is to have DD in nursery part time. I think she'll love it honestly. They love having little people around to play with at that age. Just make sure you pick a nursery you are happy with.

Do you have a friend who could look after her? I used to look after my friend's DD when she went back to work part time.

Could you start DD in a part time nursery? good for her once she gets used to it and it would give you some time to work?

Congrats on your new business. Hire a cleaner. With that stuff done, you can concentrate on bub and your business. Don't waste a valuable second on cleaning or housework;)

I would not want to be in your shoes.... Can you hire a part time cleaner? This will lessen the load. Perhaps you can work when bubs is down for sleep-time? I work from home but both of my children are now at school so it's perfect.... Really, when they are so young, you need to enjoy them, they are so much fun... Can you postpone work until the LO is at school?

How do you manage with your baby? I have a 15 mth DD who has been used to having either me or DH around. now DH is going back to work full time and I am panicking. She hates it if I'm at the PC, I run my business, have meetings and she has never been with a babysitter. I don't have a maid or family here. I am panicking at the very thought. How do you manage? Am terrified!! TIA
