Hi ladies, I came across this thread when searching for recommendations for AC cleaning. I have a 2 bed apt with 2 AC control planels, does that mean that I will be charged per unit ie 2? Or per vent? And are these prices and recommendations still good? TIA

Thanx girls, for you quick reply, there are 9 units, they all work, just want to have it cleaned, one unit is smelling. Ac is one year old. I assume you mean 9 ac vents in the villa - you certainly won't have 9 ac units on the roof! I'd be amazed if you did! You could do if its a big Villa. 9 units means 9 seperate rooms running, like my villa has 4 I have 2 downstairs 2 upstairs, but some villas may have 9 units, 1x living 1x dining 1xfamily 4xbedroom 1xmaids room, 1xstudy (there's 9) :) Didn't think of that. We have four on the roof, that's for running 2 ac's downstairs and 2 for the upstairs, as not every room has a seperate ac control. Yikes at the cost of running 9 though - gulp!

If you call JWFI they may offer a discount for more units, but if its 2000AED thats about 210 per unit which isn't bad, although make sure they're a decent company that actually disinfect when cleaning, as well as clean out the pipes it makes a HUGE difference to the smell. You should have your AC cleaned 3x a year here in order to keep it maintained properly.

The 350 per unit should be IF it requires gas! We used another Jim, he and his team were fantastic. They sorted a load of wiring out for us while they were there as well. I didn't mind paying more, because they did a wonderful job and actually cleaned up after themselves. edited by Chocs01 on 19/04/2011

Each room or each unit? I use Jim will Fix it to clean my AC and we have 4 units, and the cost was 350 per unit. I have used emrill before and they charged 600AED for the AC cleaning, but they didn't do nearly as good of a job as JWFI so I rather pay the money and have it cleaned properly. They disinfect, re-do the gas, clean all the vents, clean all the pipes, go on the roof etc... they explain in detail when you call what they do.

er no. With ac cleaning it really depends how bad it is, the main cost factor is if you need the gas refilling, that's what costs the money. Put it this way, we had an amazing guy come and do all ours - 4 bed villa, fill all four gas canisters as they were all empty and it cost about 1,200 Dhs. They did an excellent job!
