Dear Wendopia my children frequently get the bus from Saheel Gate 2 to MOE. Takes approx 45 mins, as it goes all round AR. At the moment it runs every half hour and you can get the times from the RTA website, for bus F30. On the whole it is very punctual. Not sure of exact cost, as we charge the cards with 100 dhs a time, and they last for ages and ages - its a couple of dirhams each way. We originally bought the cards at the metro station in the Mall of the Emirates. (The silver ones) You can get them topped up at Le Marche, but I'm not sure if you can actually buy them there. It used to be you couldn't, but things change quickly here. To get bus back from mall of Emirates, the bus stops are all in front of the main entrance to MOE (where Harvey Nics is). There are signs at each stop showing which bus stops there. You have to cross a couple of stops to get to the F30 stop. Its a fab service, and if more people used it, they might go back to the one bus every 10 minutes, which was brilliant!

Why don't you do a test run and learn how it works then it may be alot easier to show and explain to your parents rather than 3 rd hand information. Start by paying a visit to metro station to buy an NOL card and then take the bus or better still go on the metro also etc etc . You will enjoy the expierence and it will also be an education. Take the children if you have any. Day out ! Enjoy Think that's what I'll do this weekend! :) Good idea!

Think you may be able to buy NOL cards from Le Marche at AR - they certainly advertised this a while before Christmas.

Why don't you do a test run and learn how it works then it may be alot easier to show and explain to your parents rather than 3 rd hand information. Start by paying a visit to metro station to buy an NOL card and then take the bus or better still go on the metro also etc etc . You will enjoy the expierence and it will also be an education. Take the children if you have any. Day out ! Enjoy

You can get nol card from Carefour. Check on www.nol.ae which nol card will suit you most.

It's not much but not sure exactly. Best to buy them NOL cards because you can't just pay the driver. They then hold their card up to the reader machine on entry and exit of the bus and the fare is deducted. If you get on the bus at the last stop in the Ranches (which is by Mirador La Colleccion I think) or close to that roundabout, then it is only about 20 mins. The bus goes clockwise around the perimeter road so depending on where you get on it can take ages. HTH edited by plum2 on 11/01/2011 <em>edited by plum2 on 11/01/2011</em>
