We just moved apartments on Wednesday to Ghoroob (which we love!) but during the move we have lost (or stolen to think the worst) a Mama's and Papa's carry bag with the whole of our stroller accessories i.e. the seat, hood, liner and head rest! It was still in its original packaging but luckily no receipt. The only thing left of the stroller that we have is the chassis. Have searched high and low in the apartment and it's not here!! Arrrrrhhhhhh! And the worst thing is that our friends got it for us and was then charged twice for it from the bank. We have watched the security cameras from our last building and saw that it went onto the mover's truck, however, from there who knows!! It is going to cost us Dhs 800 to replace it. We also know that the mover's did not take it. I'm hoping that perhaps it was left in the lift and someone has found it (trying to think positively about situation!) so have asked the security to keep a look out incase anything is found or handed-in. I absolutely loved it - it is a black seat with a damask (black and white) hood and liner/head rest!!

Sorry but I really needed to vent this as I'm so frustrated! And angry if someone has just picked it up! If you have seen a Mama's and Papa's bag with this inside in Ghoroob, please let me know. Would be very, very grateful!!

So to those who live in Ghoroob can any of you tell me how easy is it to lease a 3 bed apartment? It seems I have to wait until a block is released and then the 3 beds go like hot cakes - does anyone have any tips on how to secure a 3 bed?

which building number are you in suznz? have you been upto Bldg1B and spoken to the head of security there? we certainly have a mixed bag of neighbours in this compound, I'm not surprised to hear of a theft!

I moved to Ghoroob a couple of weeks ago and i love it there too, however...... i altered my details on my Oasis account and needed two bottles of water. i was told to leave them at my door as i have done hundreds of times since living here in various places....some time between lunch and 6pm when i got home they had been nicked with the 20AED which i had hidden to pay for it... before getting a battering for being so trusting in what has, for the last 4 years, been somewhere i have NEVER had anything stollen, my view of Ghoroob is different... i am not going to point fingers but i know there is only a handful of people on my floor and i am near the end of a corridor......i know have a healthy level of distrust again. Compared to your loss its insignificant i know, just hope you find your accessories, but beware..... its the inconveinience that it causes that is such a pain! PS both myself and the Oasis guy seperately enquired with security if the cleaners had removed it and they said no......hmmmm edited by Blueskies on 01/02/2011

We have searched the lobby and the adjacent staircases of the building so I'm sure it's not there anywhere. I sliding to the idea that it perhaps got left in the lift during the move and not taken out by the time the doors closed & the lift moved floors and someone has found it and doesn't know who it belongs to! Have put up a sign in the lobby but am going to go round to the apartments today and ask if they have seen it anywhere. Will also see if maintenance or the cleaners have seen it. Hopefully it will turn up soon! Positive thinking...

Long shot but can you not claim on the insurance company of the movers?

So? Ask the movers company, ask neighbors, etc. It may still be laying somewhere in the corner of the staircase or something. I do not think anyone robbed you, probably it is just simply lost. edited by dentro on 31/01/2011
