Yes, they won't accept claims for the [u'>country of residence[/u'> which (for me) is Dubai. How they actually prove where you live, I don't know and I also don't know how deeply they investigate it (if at all) if there was ever a claim made. I've specified our address on the form and stated we live in Dubai, so that may be enough. There was no requirement to show residency permits in passports. Our policies were renewed in January - double-checked at the time and incidently, if we traveled on holiday to our home country, could still claim for medical/or incidents if required while there, as it is not our country of residence.
Hope you understand what I'm getting at here!

Thanks Pomegranate, but if they were here for several months with no job and just travel insurance then Axa could easily prove they were living without a residence visa by the number of visit visa stamps in the passport.
So if I'm reading what you've put correctly in that case Axa wouldn't then pay out in the event of a claim?
There is a clause in the Axa Travel Insurance policy that any claims occuring in the country of residence is excluded. Unless they could prove that this person was resident (i.e. living), without a resident visa. So if this person is on a visit visa, travel insurance may be suitable easy option - until at least the residence visa is in place?
Thanks KB100 will send them down to the Axa office
No travel insurance Waxmuch, it's for someone who has recently lost their job here, but wants to stay here and try to find another
Can you recommend a local provider for medical insurance for someone who doesn't currently have a residence visa for here please?
I can see from past threads that people have recommended Daman and Axa, but do they need a copy of a residence visa with your application?
