Is Swarovski Crystals on baby clothing safe? Your opinion?

Morning ladies,

I need some opinions before I go out on a spending spree! I discovered a fabulous new baby boutique in Mercato Mall called Bling Couture. They sell the most irresistible range of Swarovski decorated girly clothing as well as some boy clothing. My concern is just around the crystals on the clothing (and pacifiers) and they way it is fixed. Do you think it is safe?

I bought a t-shirt from a market stall at the JBR Walk more than a year ago (Charly’s Choice Baby Bling if I’m not mistaken) and regularly washed the garment with no crystals coming loose. The owner of this stall promised me that all the crystal are hand-fixed and check for proper bonding before selling it.

This new boutique in Mercato belongs to the same lady, so I believe the quality will be the same, but before I go out and spend my life savings if anyone have some opinion on how safe crystals are for babies I would appreciate it. I only had one t-shirt so it might not be representative of the average experience with crystal decorated products.

I tried Googling “how safe is swarovski crystals for babies” but I do not get any results which concerns me…

My one-year-old eats everything in sight and there is no way I'd put him in any piece of clothing that has anything stuck to it that could come off. I don't care how powerful the bond is meant to be - he's a strong little b*gger and I wouldn't trust him not to bite things off. I just don't think it's worth the risk. Even if a crystal doesn't choke the baby, won't it be a little uncomfortable - to say the least - when it's eventually ejected the other end?!:\: And it can cut through the way too!!!

My child is 18 months old...eats anything in sight though. I guess as long as she is wearing the clothing it will be hard to chew so crystals should stay intact.[b'>[u'> I guess Swarovski would have though about this...[/u'>[/b'> My daughter wore her t-shirt for quite some time (until it got too small) with no indication of irritation. No, Swarovski is not the one that fixes the cristal into the clothes. They only sell the stones, unless you buy the clothes directly in a Swarovski store, but they don't sell baby clothes. I woudn't buy it to any child bellow 3 years old, better safe than sorry.

I think if she's a muncher then I wouldn't be buying anything with crystils on it to be honest. Toddler saliva is notoriously powerful!

Wont it iratate them if they are on a t shirt? like scratch their arms etc...my eldest daughter moaned when she had a t shirt like that, that underneath there wasnt another layer it would make her itch etc also there would be no garantee that they wouldnt come off, no matter what they say.
