Hi
Collecting a second hand fridge from a friends place today. I know when you move fridges there is a certain length of time you have to let them stand for the gas to settle before you turn them on isn't there? Anyone know how long it is?
TIA

Thank you so much. Can't wait to turn it on! How sad is that, getting excited about a new fridge :)

Ideal temp for a fridge is 2 to 4 degrees Celsius and freezer is about minus 18 degrees Celsius edited by Sam7 on 06/07/2011

Thanks Sam7 It was on its side for about 30 mins. I guess I'll have to wait a bit longer then. It has digital settings for the fridge and freezer on the front. Any idea what temps I should set them on? My friend can't remember what they were set on. I can't get the manual till tomorrow night. TIA edited by plum2 on 06/07/2011

If the fridge isn't tilted too much during removal, and is transported in an upright position, then it should be okay to turn on after 12 hours. If it has spent a bit more time laid over, then leave it upright for 24 hours before re-starting.
