it took me three years and i STILL couldn't get a visa to sponsor my husband to go to canada, lol.... Your best bet is just getting a maid from an agency once you are inside Canada (there are tons of them).

My neighbor's maid is going through the process of getting a job in Canada. It takes a long time. There is a program in Canada for bringing in domestic help... Must have equivalent of Canadian equivalent 12th grade education (verified), fluent english, specialized work experience for many years (cant remember how many) and employer must be able to prove they cannot find an equivalent person to hire in Canada (taking out ads and trying to hire locally). Also, maid has a financial outlay herself of several thousand dhs. All paperwork and fees go to Canadian embassy here, and the wait is appx 1 1/2 years for the visa. Also, min wage, hours worked, etc do apply of course. Neighbor's maid started the process about 6 months ago, and hoping it will go through when she finished her local contract next summer.

I agree with natalie8. There are a lot of maid service companies in Canada. You can contact the Canadian Government in Ottawa (don't contact the consulate here because you'll most likely not get the correct info). I imagine there is a lot of paperwork required as well as certain requirements that need to be met by your maid. What you also have to remember is that the labour laws are very strict in Canada. You can only work so many hrs a day and so many days per week or you'll need to start paying overtime. Plus there is a minimum hourly wage that she is to be paid. And of course taxes since you would her employer.

If you really want a maid once you'ved moved there, it would be easier to hire one there. there are so many labour laws and so much paperwork that maids and employers need to go through that I think that would be the easier option. Bringing a maid over from UAE could be difficult.
