Hi everyone!
Hope you can help me out on this... My son is currently attending London Paris Nursery (doing Summer Camp now and gonna attend the fall term this coming September. Also going to a play area/daycare in our area in between) but since he's turning 4 next year, we would have to transfer him to a preschool or school. Although I could research about schools online, I would also want to hear recommendations (and feedback) on Schools that teach English and French from mummies :-)

Thanks so much for that! Will tell my husband (he's the Frenchie between the two of us) about it and try to drop by to check it out next time :-)

Hi my dd1 (age 4 going on 5 in Nov) is at the Lycee Francais International (otherwise known as aflec) and I'm very happy with it. She completed Maternelle Moyenne Section (roughly equiv to FS1) last year and is now going into Grande Section in Sept. It's a French curriculum school, with French teachers. English is also taught to a good level. Like the other French school, Georges Pompidou (LGP), it's inspected by both the French govt (Education Nationale) and KHDA every year. I've been delighted with my dd's main (French) teacher who is extremely professional and experienced. English teachers are not quite the same standard as they are not all qualified, and I was not too pleased with Arabic but unfortunately that is often the case in Dubai. I was amazed by the progress my dd made in French during her first year at LFI. I had been raising her bilingually since birth, constantly speaking French to her while dh (and everyone else) spoke English to her. Despite my constant efforts, she nearly always responded to me in English. But literally on her first day at school she began singing French songs on the way home in the car. Now she is perfectly bilingual. Her English has also continued to progress well. LFI is not a flashy school, with quite simple accommodation in Al Nasr Club in Oud Metha. But it is perfectly adequate and most importantly has excellent teachers and happy kids. I was really impressed by the effort which went into preparing the carnaval and end of year show. Both were simple but creative and fun for the children. My dd2 (age 2 years) is going to start at Mon Ecole nursery in Jumeira in Sept. Dd1 went to their summercamp for 2 weeks in July and loved it. It's a very nurturing environment with rabbits outside and a lot of emphasis on creativity. Hth x edited by KarenBlixen on 23/08/2011 edited by KarenBlixen on 23/08/2011
