My daughter wants me to send her a very loved, expensive dress that she left behind. I dont want to consign it to the post office. How do I courier it. I have seen a DHL desk at MOE. Do they receive items there? Do they have envelopes/boxes to pack it in? An idea of cost? Would love to hear your experiences

Thank you ladies you are amazing. Skynet have come out as the cheapest. It only costs AED50 to ship an item under0.5kg to the UK . however insurance costs AED279. Over 1KG its AED85 with AED341 insurance, it'll take 2-3 days to arrive and they will collect from anywhere. Guess what my daughter has just decided to wear something else to her party! phew! Still its good to know for next time!

Make sure you get it really well packed as my friend had items destroyed by Skynet when they arrived at destination crushed.

Be sure to describe the items as 'used clothing being returned', otherwise you will be asked to provide documents that are difficult to obtain as the export of new clothing from Dubai via courier is subject to regulations.

Skynet were recommend to me on here a few days ago and they seem pretty reasonable and track. If it is clothes then I recommend wrapping it in as small a package as possible as they charge by dimensions rather than weight. www.skynetworldwide.net FFx

FedEx have a desk inside Kinko's on Bank Street, if that helps.

Here's the Emirates Post rate caluclator http://tinyurl.com/d27gm9 However I would use Skynet, they are cheaper than any other courier here, they collect from your location and don't cost any more than EMS - so its really not worth treking to the post offrice and paying for express mail service when you can courier it door to door and track it for the same money. http://www.skynetworldwide.net/

I've only sent documents from that DHL desk and they provided the envelope and were exorbitantly expensive for sending a contract back to Greece. I should imagine they would provide the box but the cost would probably be the same as the dress itself :( Have you had a look here? http://www.dhl.co.ae/en/mail/international_services/parcel.html There's a contact number you could try, as well.

If you call DHL they may come and collect it.
