Hi,we went in December and the weather was pretty cold. Pokhara is a lovely place, and yes you can see the mountains from the town,on a clear day. You can also get a clear view of the mountains when you go boating on the Fewa lake. Nagarkhot is very close to Pokhara and is famous for its sunrises. We stayed in Pokhara and went to Nagarkhot by car early in the morning to view the sunrise. It was amazing! also in Pokhara are the Davies falls and caves. They also have glider trips over the mountains in Pokhara. In Kathmandu, try the mountain flights,if the weather is good.Hope you have a good time!. :)

I have travelled around Nepal a bit, do as Aroha says, take a flight! i took buses and they take forever and the roads are quite dangerous. Pokhara is lovely, many hikes to do near there. There is another resort called the edge of the world (or similar) but I think Pokhara would be better as you have access to lots of restaurants/cafes etc.

If you are going to Khatmandu valley...make sure you head UP the hills and out of the smog/pollution I would recommend going to Pokara, you can get a wee flight from the city as the bus would take too long for a short break. Lots of lovely hikes either day trips of 4 day treks out from there and it's a beautiful spot.

yes been twice! Have a look if there are any packages through Air Arabia. Gokarna resort is a nice place to stay out of the buzz of town. Not too sure on hiking areas though?
