End of service calculation query - weekends included or not ?

Hi all,
DH is about to get his end of service benefit paid next week.
He will get his EOSB paid and his remaining annual leave , both claculated in days.
How is his daily rate calculated as he is paid monthly?
Is it is monthly salary devided by :
30 days (total no of days per month)
or 22 days ( total working days per month)
There is a 30% differnce between the two calculations
