Good excuse for a new dress?

Was sitting having a coffee before hitting C4 and wondering what to wear to a ball in December and realised why I'd had a feeling something was missing when I moved my dresses to our new villa - my favourite (and IMO makes me look vaguely slimmer ;) ) long black dress wasn't there!
Am presuming I've never picked it up from the dry cleaners - last time I wore it I think was in March! If they rang at all it would have been over the summer and I was away for 3 months so they've possibly gotten rid - will go and check tomorrow now but am really ticked off with myself - it wasn't hugely expensive and I've had it ages but it's one of 'those' dresses that will last forever and never date and I love it.
