Hi Ladies, can anyone please advise on where to get a mobile deal at the moment? I want a new phone with a contract and was hoping you could advise and save me a whole lot of donkey work ;) TIA

Personally, I used to be phone chatter...talk, talk, talk. But, here that would cost me my savings. So, now I just want to make my life easier with text and access to the internet for information, emails and ability to make lists. I hear BBM is free amongst the many users. Then, iphone users argue that their phones are capable by means of a miracle "app" to communicate with BBM. And then the argument over service providers starts... I find the whole process of this silly decision exhausting. Rant over. Mostly, I would like to freely chat via text with my USA friends and family most economically for them and me.

Firstly, you need to decide what you will use the phone for - calls & texts only, blackberry email & BBM, iphone/android data etc. Do you want to buy a handset as well as a calling/data plan? From my own experience, Du is cheaper and the customer service at their stores is fine but often there are queues. Etisalat is more expensive but has better coverage and their data services seem to be better but they are often capped at 2GB against Du's 10GB. Both customer services by phone are awful, Du's website self care is useful. Just have a look at the websites to start with (even though they are often out of date) or try Axiom as they do both.

Du Customer service is horrible! Only Etisalat for me.

I was excited to see this post. We have been considering new phones with plans. Hopefully, someone here can share a few details of their favorite plan.... pretty please. To qoute Delvin, "was hoping you could advise and save me a whole lot of donkey work" (that was perfectly said)

I would stick with Etisalat. There are regions in Dubai where DU doesnt even have proper coverage yet.
