Has anyone successfully changed their homepage to MSN.com or uk version. I am so frustrated as I keep getting the UAE version as homepage no matter how many times I change it. And, to top it off, even if you click on it after googling it, it still takes you to the UAE version. This is really starting to tick me off. Any suggestion ladies before I throw my coffee at this thing.

Make sure your browser states 'us' after www.msn.com/?=. If it says 'ae', delete it, and add us. http://www.msn.com/?c=us Hope this makes sense.

Appreciate all the comments, however, my hotmail is set up under US, and you simply can't just go to the US version by typing it in -- that's the frustration. When I did finally get to the US version, I marked it as using it for my homepage but, guess what, you click it again -- goes back to the local version automatically. So dang frustrating! I had this problem, my homepage is set to US too but it kept taking me to the uae page. The solution on my browser was to shut the browser, clean all cookies and then log in to hotmail and log out, it then gave me a pop up offering the choice of the US or uae page as homepage. Click on US and click on remember my choice. That worked for me. hth

Some browsers have plugins that can change defaults - for instance I have Firefox and use a plugin to change Google search automatically to Google.com in English.

It's not even that, the sites detect where the servers are that you're using, so automatically bring up pages for that region. For example I can change the servers I use through my VPN to here, the UK, US and and other countries, depending where I 'appear' to be connecting from, it brings up the sites relevant to that country. Also when you google something, it'll give suggestions to the area it 'thinks' i am in. The majority of the net now uses site detectors. So unless you're using a VPN and change your location that way, you're pretty much stuck with it, edited by Chocs01 on 21/11/2011

I think it because you have told hotmail that you are in the UAE, you need to go and change that setting back to UK and msn will then default to the UK version.
