DD is getting a new bike for Christmas. She is 4 and needs a 16" with stabilisers/training wheels and would like pink. Stocks seem to be limited in what I need as I have tried Toys R Us, Toy Store, Hamleys (different branches). I have started trawling the sports stores now but would like any recommendations for a good brand of bike as the prices in sports stores seem to be quite a bit higher than toy stores. If I have to buy an expensive bike, I'd rather buy a good brand that will last. Thanks

We just got our daughter a bike from RAGE in Mirdif City Centre. They had a good range and we let her try a couple out - each frame is made differently. We did pay a little more but got her a GIANT bike, I really like this brand and have always had Giant bikes and never had a problem.

You could try Wolfi's. They won't have a massive range in any one size, but the staff are really helpful and you'll get the right bike for your daughter. For what it's worth, not all 16" bikes are created equal...you can't go on frame size alone. It really is best to get your daughter to 'try before you buy'. We got our daughter the B'Twin brand from Decathlon (Mirdif City Center). They have adorable bikes with fun girly accessories (my daughter's bike came with a baby seat in the back for her dolls!). you can see the 16 " bikes here: http://www.decathlon.co.uk/16-inches-bikes-sports.html the bikes can be fitted with matching training wheels on the spot. edited by Wendopia on 21/11/2011
