i use to go there just to buy meat, and so many time the stuff are kinda rude (depend on theyr mood) ,and theyr butchery become not that hygenic look ........ but recently i changed Union Co-op - Satwa (close to Canadian University) , easy parking , freindly stuff , very clean butchery area and they are willing to do whatever you need , plus more choices of meat production ,i am just sharing my expirience .

I am a huge fan of Union Co-op and it would be my first choice for meat..it actually looks real rather than plastic and pre-packaged. I tried the Al Barsha one for the first time at the weekend and although it was huge I don't think there was any more variety than the Al WAsl Road one (which is admittedly rather cramped).

I personally think the Al Safa Co-op has made considerable progress in the range of products it has available that now seem to match most of the other supermarkets including their meat section and the way their meat is butchered; their standards of hygiene and that of customer service. Best of all their prices have always been very competitive and seem to have remained so. I think they are making a rapid transition from being an 'Arab' supermarket to one that appeals to all nationalities. yes i agree with you for prices , specially meat , but still theyr butchery need to get bigger space .
