PGCE stands for POST Graduate Certificate in Education....not Professional. The one in Nottingham is an International one which DOES NOT qualify you for teaching in the UK. It specifically states this on their website. In my opinion, a waste of money if you plan to return there at some stage in your career life. Why not go to UK, do your PGCE, get your qualification and then decide where you want to teach?

The GEMS one and the Nottingham one are both International PGCE's..... From what I know they are recognised here, don't know about anywhere else in the world. But you need to do an extra year teacher training in the UK to be able to teach there. The GEMS one is in partnership with Institute of Education (UK) which is very reputable and if you are successful in passing etc they offer you a contract to a GEMS school but that doesn't mean that after that contract's over you can't teach anywhere else here. You would still have the qualification iPGCE and therefore could teach here depending on the school.

I think Repton do one where you work and study at the same time abd then are guaranteed a job with them. If it's not Repton then it is Gems but pretty sure it is Repton. Just google it.

University of Nottingham does the PGCE here, but I don't think it gives you a UK teaching license.
