They might try and charge you an increased deposit as these have doubled recently. Just to let you know.

I have done this but some time ago, so hopefully the procedure is the same. I had to have a letter of permission from the DEWA account holder to transfer his deposit and account to me with copies of his passport, this would probably be ID now as well and residence as well as mine. I went to the DEWA office behind the Grand Hyatt and it only took a short time. They issued a new receipt in my name and transferred the account to me.

Hi What's the procedure if I want to transfer the DEWA account from my brother's name to mine? I already have the tenancy contract in my name and to get the Ejari done, I need the DEWA bill to be in my name as well. We are renting the same apartment as before - I just want to transfer the DEWA account in my name. Thanks!
