Hi Ladies,

Wondering if anyone has visited Iceland, or even better, is from Iceland? We're looking at visiting in August, a trip built around the Reykjavic marathon, so staying for 2-3 days. Any suggestions for an itinerary besides the geo-thermal pools & bird watching - I'd love to see a puffin!

Hoping to hear from you...

The thermal swimming lagoon (I think it's called the Blue Lagoon) is worth a visit, and try not to miss the old church near the President's Palace outside Reykjavik, it is quite amazing, also Reykjavik Cathedral is spectacular. Most hotels can help point you in the right direction to go on a tour to the glaciers and volcanic region. Iceland is a lovely country and the peoplle are very welcoming and friendly.

Thank you Ladies for your answers, but they're really not of any use at all, sorry to say.I already have a flight route worked out, I am aware that I can't fly directly from here, that is not an issue. While hand feeding puffins in the UK would be lovely, I'm sure, it is not much good if I am running a marathon in Reykjavic which is the whole point of this trip! Would anyone be able to usefully answer the question I asked please?

If it was only seeing puffin's you wanted, there are a couple of places in the UK where you can almost feed them by hand :)

my friend visited Iceland for a week last year. But he came from France then to Iceland. Are you going from Dubai to Iceland? I think there are no direct flights there.
