so I bought a pizza stone but found out it will be impossible to place the pizza on a hot stone without a pizza peel. has anyone seen a cheap pizza peel around some where. also if any one has an experience with using pizza stones, do they need to be seasoned?

Hi lilypad, I bought a pizza stone about 2 months ago , the pizza peel I bought at crate and barrel in midriff city centre, sorry I cant remember how much it was but I bought the metal one, I thought the wooden one was a bit thick and heavy. I put the stone in the oven and let it heat slowly, I have not seasoned it and our pizzas are fab!:biggrin: I sprinkle a good handful of flour on the pizza peel before laying on the dough ( I call mine ' the snow shovel' ):lol: Have fun ! thanks for replying dollybird. Il have a look in crate barrel , Hopefully it will not be too expensive . Do you mind sharing your pizza dough recipe pls. I don't want to screw up the first time I try the stone and doom it as a failure :)
