My teenage son is obsessed with all things japanese, so I'm hoping for some Xmas present inspiration. Are there any japanese shops here other than Kinokuniya & Daiso?

Thanks

Japanese bakery shop was open several month ago in Al Wasl, called Yamanote. Great taste. Also, Yok Mok (cookie store) was open in City Walk recently. Gurumeya (Japanese grocery store) is in DIFC area.

Yep Muji, lovely shop and quality products. From their website: Muji, the meaning of which is “No brand” was established in Japan in 1980, with the idea of completely eliminating wastefulness and providing quality products for everyday life. The assortment of product that makes up a Muji store are brought together through a careful selection of materials, streamlined processes and simplified packaging which provides the consumer with good quality products at reasonable prices. The assortment of products range from Stationery, Health and Beauty products, Storage containers, Kitchen and Dining products, House Keeping items, Travel goods, Electronics, Bedding, Home living, Furniture, Men’s, Women’s and Kids Fashion, as well as Innerwear and Accessories.

Think I saw one in Dubai mall, just around the corner from waitrose. Think it was called something like Muji.

Deans Trading Supermarket. Close to the Spinneys on the corner in Oud Metha. Nearby Lamcy.

There is an authentic Japanese supermarket behind Lamcy Plaza that not only stocks a fabulous selection of Japanese food but also some bits and bobs that may be of interest. I can't recall the name unfortunately, Deans......?
