I think the shellac mani at Juan's is 120 aed, and on a Tues it's 25% off - see EW beauty offers for confirmation of this though as that's off the top of my head!

I got mine at Tips n Toes Meadows, but ages ago. It must be in other salons here too, it's available in Australia, so pretty wide distribution there :)

PS. I also slather Solar Oil on my nails morning and night and it really helps keep the cuticle area nice and soft.

I have bio nails, hooters, and get them done at N Bar. I love the way my nails look completely natural, are totally flexible [but still strong'> and yes, the nails underneath are fine. I also have the palest most transparent pink possible so it really looks like I only have an almost-clear nail varnish on them. Which is how I prefer the nails on my hands to appear. It's not cheap, true, but I think my hands look better with them than without. ;) PS. I've had acrylics in the dim dark past and gels for five years, up until September 2010 and my nails were awful after acrylics, somewhat awful after gels and practically perfect after bio sculpture. :)

has anyone tried the bio-gel nails? My frend has this done and she loves it. She said it costs around 280AED to have them done. She said it lasts for around 3 weeks before you have go back to have them re-filled. She said that the re-fills done look as good as new ones and the price difference is only 60AED so she has them soaked off and re-applied. I think this sounds pretty expensive to do every 3 weeks, especially if your nails grow quick too. Has anyone had this done? What were the condition of your nails underneath?

Shellac is a different product - there are significant differences when you've had the two applied. Shellac is a bit thinner and more natural looking on the nail IMHO. Gelish really wrecked my nails, but I have friends who swear by it and keep going back because they can't get their nails to grow nearly as long without it. What I found was happening is that your nails grow longer, but lose flexibility and so rip/snap off literally on or just below the line where the nail leaves the nail bed. Ow. On the upside, when trying to undo the damage the gelish did to my nails, I absolutely drowned my nails in Solar Oil nightly for about 4 weeks, then gave it up 'cause I'm lazy. About 4 weeks later, my nails are long and really strong, despite packing up the house, a garage sale, and lots of gardening. The stuff really works! You literally have to paint it on though, like you are painting the wall of a house, over each nail separately and rub it in. Ever so pleased with the results. Just thought I'd share - yeah, I do go on a bit! :)

Heard from the lady of Brush & Co. that they stopped the gelish services because that was detrimental to the nails. I am not sure what's wrong with the gelish nails but customers had several complaints about nails becoming thinner and brittle.
