We're going on holiday soon and I'm looking for a good mosquito repellant for my 16 month old. I've read on here that Avon Skin So Soft is a good repellant, but not sure if it's suitable for LOs. Anyone know?

Thanks

I also sell avon - and this is my best seller - the pink one also works - its a dry oil spray. I have not had any comments back about it not working for any customers - as stated it is not sold as a Mozzie Spray but the majority of people find it works for them - the best ingredient for keeping the mosquitoes away is Deet!

Hi, I'm an avon lady so I know about Skin So Soft. It's only the bluey/green bottle which has the repellent properties, which is mostly citronella. It's not designed as a mosquito-repellent, obviously, but it so happens to have that effect. I would imagine that unless your children have sensitivities to perfumed products it will be perfectly fine to use, but you could try a skin test on a small area of skin first? I would also recommend buying some of the more well-known repellent brands (including natural products intended for children or sensitive skin) as the citronella is only a deterrent - it's not totally mosquito-proof.

I use it on myself and little one and it works for us :-) but I think there are a few different ones I use the green bottle.

I have also read that about Avon's so soft but some say it does work and others don't. Not so sure but maybe try a natural repellant, with oils like lemongrass. The organic store may have one that is for children but without the chemicals. edited by TimTam on 02/06/2013
