I spotted ths post regarding the Trident Marinascape buildings in Dubai Marina (Oceanic & Avant) - and just wanted to point out that although these towers are perceived as being of high quality, they have had real problems maintenance-wise for some time and which has come to a head recently: See today's article in The National:
A/C problems aside, the maintenance and housekeeping generally is very poor and there are other issues such as odours/smoke from the restaurants located immediately below the Avant tower which permeate the swimming pool and gymnasium, often rendering them unuseable. Such a shame as the buildings enjoy a great location and some stunning views of the Marina. Despite all this, on the upside, if you're interested in renting - go ahead - I believe you'll find plenty of availability!

Mum2girls,
When we were looking to buy (a few years back now) the Trident Buildings (in particular Marinascape, Oceanic, Avant) were renowned to have the best finishings and building. A couple of the ladies lived there (not sure if they do now, Sals B??) and said it was really nice.
But I had a little look and the developer may have left the country for some reason ??? (something worth looking into if you were interested in that building, what the implications for buyers). As with everything mum2girls do your homework :)
What about Silverene, did you check out this building right near Marina Mall. Also check out anything by Emaar, they are a good developer.
And look at this review of the buildings

Alismum, I was told to stay away from Trident, was told they are poorly managed and badly maintained. I didn't even bother to look when I heard that, maybe I should go and form my own opinion.
Nicklepickle, we did look at 23 Marina, my husband loved it, but I didn't like the location, I really would like the Marina proper. There are heaps of apartments for sale in that building and very good value at the moment.
Thanks ladies.
If anyone else has any suggestions, experiences, would greatly appreciate it.
We have just moved out of 23 Marina Tower (due to landlord 'selling' not because we didn't like it) and would recommend it. There are 2 and 3 bedrooms, one side has construction noise but we were facing SZ Rd and golf course and there was only road noise which was fine.
Very nice apartments, the pool ends up in the shade in the afternoon and there is a half constructed building right next to it so not the prettiest view from the pool but we never really used the pool anyway.
But the best things are that all apartments have 2 parking spaces and it is right at the end of the marina (opposite media one hotel) so access in and out is very easy with no traffic.
Rent had gone nuts in there though - we were paying 140k for a 3 bed and they are now being advertised for 210k - so not sure what they are selling for and whether they would be in your budget.
For quality look at the Trident Buildings, especially Marinascape, Oceanic. The best place to buy (if you have the money) would be the towers that are closest to the Marina Metro Station and not the other end of Marina.
Have a good look at this forum for in depth info about any of the towers.

I have looked at Emaar 6 and they are top notch, but prices are really on the high side there, especially if you want a Marina View.
Have also looked at Marina Quays, All Sahab and Marina Tower.
Any one lived in those and what do you think of the quality of them, building maintenance etc.
Any other buildings I should consider?
I hear there is a big mosque being built in the Marina area, so don't want to be too close to near that either.
Thank you.
