I just got a message from etisalat, about the BB service that was out for 3 days now.. Etisalat is appologizing and *:\:* will pay back the three days!!!! AM I dreaming again!!!

Ig "if you dont take elife, you will not have internet soon as will stop Al Shamil " Bless them...... perhaps next time tell them that as only a small part of Dubai has fibre optics installed they have at least 5 years to go before they can stop Al shamil.....

"does that mean you agree to take elife ?" !! Quite incredible listening skills they have!!! Etisalat have seriously given me the worse service, in every aspect, of any company I have received since arriving here.

I regularly get calls asking me to take elife. initially they would ask if i want elife More recently, they try to scare me by saying "if you dont take elife, you will not have internet soon as will stop Al Shamil " Last time they called, i told her that as so many people i know are having problems with elife, i will not take it; She replies "does that mean you agree to take elife ?" !!

It's because of these troubles that we face with etisalat and more that I was really shocked of the behaviour!!!

Miracle of miracles, mine now works for the first time. I felt bad for all-out bawling at the technician but if I hadn't shouted at him he would not have replaced the PVR and got the system updated.

Ooooh.... do you get "Upgrade Failed: Error Code A(we've had 2, 3 and 4)" ? We defintiely get the error code .. 2, 3, 4 not the upgrade words though, we also get some http reference I have no idea what is the matter with the thing, I have pulled the plug out the back so many times I have RSI

Sanddy_Dogg, yes, yes, yes - we have had the same problems, it all started when in May I was told we could have the ELife system and yes we had fibre optic cables, so yep according to them no worries!! Oh how wrong was i for getting so pleased that the experience had gone so well ... eventually by June they delivered a box, to tell me no fibre optics, therefore I had to wait for them to install them. We are now on our 5th ELife box!!! Constantly getting a white screen with an error code, it won't let me record certain programmes, etc ... phoned up again last week after the white page/error occured on Friday morning just intime to stop us from watching the England Rugby, some tech came around on Sunday to reset the box to factory setting and Etisalat keep msging me to tell me the error is still in investigation, along with that the sound and tv are not in sync, so that is sooo offputting! ARGGGHHH ETISALAT! Weirdly though we have seen a bill and they haven't taken payment since August! Ummmmm??

We can cry on each other's shoulders. We've been paying the full eLife Triple Play tariff since July last year but can't stop, FF, rewind, record - never have been able to. We requested an extra connection a couple of weeks ago and they came to sort it 12 days ago and it was only then they gave us a PVR with the new connection. I guess we would never have been given a PVR otherwise so would never be able to use all the features. Anyway, it's never worked, always has an error message so I've been calling every day. A technician along with his obligatory button-pusher turned up yesterday with a brand new one because he was under the impression he was there to install a new PVR. He refused to take it out of the box and said I needed a "complain number" to get it fixed. I showed him the number I'd been given 90 minutes before but he said it was closed so he couldn't do anything. He told me to call Etisalat who would give me a new number and then send someone round. I lost it then, big-time lost it. I refused to call Etisalat to get a new number only to have to wait another 12 days for someone to show up. I told him to take the new one out of the box and try it, which he refused to do. After a lot more shouting and to-ing and fro-ing with his supervisor on the phone, he did so and it worked. I'm now waiting for them to activate it so I get all my channels. I'm not holding my breath.... Another fine example of customer-non-service in the UAE <em>edited by Sanddy_Dogg on 13/10/2011</em>

Well can I have the names of these good people at Etisalat so I can get them to sort out my PVR that hasn't worked in the 12 days I've had it? I'm about to chuck the ******* thing out of the window. Same here sanddydogg.....I've had elife for a month now and not a day has gone by without me having to call etisalat about technical issues. Yesterday and today the call centre are having technical issues, so they cannot help me with mine! They cannot even register a complaint. I am so fed up with their shoddy service!

I heard this on the Radio an hour or so ago that both Etisalat and Du will give their BB customers 3 days free services to make up for the 3 days lost

This is the first time ever during 4 years, Etisalat do such a thing!!! usually you have to fight for every Dirham!! Thumbs Up for Etisalat this time!!!

They messed up my data plan on I phone and i got all the money back within minutes that they had deducted They were very efficient :-)
