Lol Sue!!! It comes in handy for knowing if the carpet cleaners are doing their jobs properly or not!!!
But for sure its useful when you get one of those "I can SMELL the pee but I can't see it" moments... even places you think they haven't gone, chances ar ehtey have, and it only takes a small amount left for them to go back to the same spot! Felt like an episode of CSI
Yep, go to the vet. the kitty could be stressed about something, also it's not unusual for them to regress if they've just started learning to use a litter box, they'll go really well for awhile then suddenly just start 'forgetting' where to go.
Our car starting peeing (not spraying) and he did it EVERYWHERE. took him to the vet and turned out there was something wrong with him and because he couldn't tell us he was in pain, he started just peeing all over the place. We eventually got a black light and a special spray from the vets, you'd be surprised at how many spots they canp ut down that you won't even know about, and each time we sprayed a place he wouldn't go there again. took awhile but definitely rule out him being sick or scared of something.
you can do one of 2 things :)...roll up the carpets until you find out what it is, or...put a bowl of his food where he peed and he wont pee there again...and go to the vet :)
It could be a urinary tract infection, or crystals or similar....I would have that ruled out by the vet first. If thats all clear then there could be other things you could try such as changing the type of litter, or the location of the litter box.

We have a 2yr old cat who has been with us for about a month. He was using the litter box fine but now has started to p** on our rugs. Thankfully, the other stuff is still getting done in the litterbox (which is kept clean) but I have no idea why he is doing this when he wasn't previously (so ruling out the change in home). Is it a territory thing? There are alot of other cats around where we live - but it's not spraying that he is doing. Any ideas? Thanks
