Where can I buy chinese lanterns here in Dubai?? you know, the one that float in the sky..Somebody suggested Dragonmart, but bit far for me, so if someone know a closer shop)...

Not to mention marine life when they end up in the sea. They look pretty for about a minute, but probably not worth it for the negative impact they have.

They were banned in the UK - caused no end of problems for livestock when the bits landed...

and I dont blame them. The lanterns are lovely, but after living at the end of the runway in Mirdif....we spent a lot of time hoping that someone wouldn't do something stupid and bring down a plane on our heads. luckily we have moved.....however, I believe that these lanterns belong a long way out of town, and there aren't may of us in Dubai that live that far out.

Hi there! I still have some paper lanterns, the traditional ones that uses candles if you're interested. Used them to celebrate the mid autumn festival last sept.

if you go to any of the MORE cafes they sell these sky lanterns there... it's gorgeoussss!! :) just remember to be careful about where you release them (as in ensure it's not in flight path etc.)
